Heart to Heart Gatherings

Heart-to-Heart Gatherings provides a safe and welcoming space for mothers and daughters to engage in brave conversations that deepen their understanding of each other.

Genesis

My mom Holly and I believe it’s important to feel seen, heard and valued throughout every life stage.

At 25, I gave my mother the memoir Traveling with Pomegranates for her birthday, sparking a shared dream of writing a book together… and then the years passed. Thirteen years later, I met someone who had lost that chance with her own mother, and it was a wake-up call. I immediately called my mom and said, "Let’s not wait." Inspired by re-reading the book, we began brainstorming on a project that would reflect the messages in this meaningful book, and Heart-to-Heart Gatherings was born.

As seasoned facilitators, we lead virtual gatherings for mother/daughter pairs to explore their unique relationship by embracing each other’s individuality as they navigate life’s changes.

Your experience begins with a 2.5 hour Opening Circle on zoom featuring:

  • Personal reflective journaling guided by theme-based prompts.

  • Facilitated breakout discussions with Holly leading the mothers and Tes leading the daughters to discuss reflections.

  • Individual breakouts for your mother/daughter pair to openly share and commit to doing “one thing different” going forward that will deepen your relationship.

  • Reconnecting as a group to share your commitments in a supportive space, bringing closure to this brave experience.

After your Heart-to-Heart Opening Circle, keep an eye out for invites for check-ins with other mother/daughter participants to re-energize your commitment and learn from others new ways to heighten your connection.

KIND WORDS

From mothers

“(You) took a relationship that is of utmost importance to us, we put it in your hands and you gave it the gentle, loving push that it deserved. I am very grateful.”

“I had carried an unasked, but critical, question for my daughter for over a decade. This workshop gave me the space, both emotionally and temporally, to broach this with her. The outcome was better than I anticipated and I am so grateful.”

From daughters

“I didn’t know how much my mom and I needed that until we were in it. The format was really great to think about what’s strong and what needs work in our relationship.”

“Sharing an intimate space of community with adult daughters and their mothers is a rare privilege. The cracking open that can happen in those circumstances doesn't happen elsewhere and Tes and Holly take hold that responsibility with awe and tenderness."
